Route – Easy Rider Hoi An to Hue in 1 day

Sights & Highlights

Your Easy Rider will pick you up at your hotel or hostel in Hoi An or Danang at 8.30 AM. While your luggage is being tied to the motorbike, you put on your protective gear. Helmets on – and we are ready to go!

Along the coast we drive to the Marble Mountains. In one of these five mountains we find several spectacular tunnels, caves and temples. Afterwards it’s time for the Hai Van Pass – camera in hand! – where we will stop at the top for a beautiful view over the coastline of Danang. We continue our way over the pass and stop at Lang Co Beach to enjoy the white sand in combination with beautiful clear blue water. During lunch your Easy Rider can help you choose a local (seafood) dish that you like.

After lunch we’ll drive to the Elephant Springs, a small waterfall that flows into a wonderfully refreshing natural spring. Care for a swim? We drive on to the fishing village of Cau Hai to see the fishermen at work in the largest lagoon in Southeast Asia. At the end of the afternoon the tour ends at your ho(s)tel in Hue.

Original Easy Rider/English speaking guide with years of experience as an Easy Rider and a lot of knowledge of the area – motorbike (150 – 175cc) – petrol – all entrance fees – helmet and protective clothing – damage insurance

Additional costs

Lunch, drinks and any other personal expenses. Expect your daily costs to be about €7/$7 per person for drinks throughout the day.

If you wish to take the elevator to enter the Marble Mountains you are expected to cover the extra costs yourself (15.000 VND per person, one-way). Elevator tickets can be bought at the site. The entrance fee using the staircase is included in the tour.

Pick-up & Drop-off

All tours start between 8 and 9 AM in the morning. After booking with us, one of our Easy Riders will contact you with the exact pick-up time. Your Easy Rider will pick you up at your hostel or hotel in the departure city.

At the end of your tour – usually late afternoon, before dinner – you’ll be dropped off at the accommodation of your choice in the destination city. Make reservations before arrival, because our riders only make one stop for drop-off.

Arriving by bus or train?

We can arrange pick-ups and drop-offs at bus or train stations if you arrive before 9 AM in the morning. Start your tour fresh of the night bus or train – we’ll stop for breakfast along the way!
Provide us with the necessary information (departure and arrival station, name of the bus company, estimated time of arrival) by adding it to the booking form.

If you have a flight on the night your tour ends, our guides are happy to drop you off at the airport of the arrival destination. Just make sure you allow enough time for check-in and boarding.

What is an Easy Rider motorbike tour?

An Easy Rider is a Vietnamese guide on a motorbike. Our Easy Riders are English-speaking, licensed tour guides who know the ins and outs of Vietnamese roads, nature, history and culture. Touring with an Easy Rider means that you comfortably sit on the back of the motorbike behind the guide – wearing protective gear – while you travel from one city to the next, stopping regularly to enjoy sights, local experiences, drinks and meals.

Tours start between 8 and 9 AM, and end between 3 and 5 PM. Your Eay Riders picks you up and drops you off at your accommodation. Multiple day tours include overnight stays.

How to book (availability, payment)

Availability
Use the calendar at the top of the tour page to check availability for the preferred date(s).

Booking
On the tour page, fill in the number of people you book for – choose between sitting behind the guide and self-driving – and select the date(s). Click ‘book now’ and follow the steps to complete your booking.

Payment
You pay a small deposit by online payment; the remaining amount you pay at the start of the tour.

Confirmation
You receive an automatically generated booking confirmation. Within 48 hours of booking, our head Easy Rider Mr. Vu will also email you to confirm your tour.

How far in advance should I book?
You can book tours departing from Dalat, Hoi An and Hue shortly beforehand. For popular multiple-day tours (like the Ha Giang Loop), we advice you to book ahead. It’s okay if you don’t know your pick-up or drop-off location yet, you can let us know later.

Self-driving & International Driving Permit

On the tour, you can drive yourself if you are:

a party of at least two people; on every tour at least one person sits behind an Easy Rider.
in possession of a valid motorcycle license (A1 or A2), and;
in possession of a valid 1968-version of the International Driving Permit (IDP), obtained in your home country;

We will make sure to get you a well maintained motorbike (manual or clutch) and protective gear. The rate for sitting on the back or driving your own bike is the same, gasoline is included.

For safety reasons, we don’t allow passengers on the motorbikes for self-driving.

Luggage

Each person can bring one (1) backpack or suitcase (max. 20 kg / 44 lbs) and one (1) daypack or handbag on the tour. Even pretty big hard scale suitcases can be tied to the back of the motorbike as long as they are not over 20 kg (44 lbs); it’s more about weight distribution than size.

All luggage is put in waterproof bags and tied to the front or back of the motorcycle.

Is it a private tour or do we ride in groups?

On most occassions, it’s just you and your Easy Rider(s): a private tour.

During peak seasons (July & August, November – February), we sometimes combine multiple bookings to a small group. This group then consists of all the guests who have booked the same route on the same date(s). This is most common on our popular day tours (covering the Hai Van Pass).

Our Ha Giang Loop tours are always private tours. For us, this is an important way to distinguish our tours in this region from the awfully big groups some operators ride with.
