After we leave Kham Duc we cross the river via an exciting suspension bridge. On the Ho Chi Minh Trail we drive past Vietnam War sights such as Charlie Hill, the Phoenix airfield and one of the military camps affected by Agent Orange. We have lunch at the Ngoc Hoi border with Laos. Afterwards we will visit a wooden French colonial church from 1930, an orphanage, traditional ‘Rong’ houses and the prison of Kon Tum.

Kon Tum to Buon Ma Thuot (260 KM)

Long drive today! We drive on the Ho Chi Minh Trail past mountain villages and the agricultural life of ethnic minorities. We visit a tea plantation, a blacksmith and the village and tombs of the Jrai tribe.

Day 4

Buon Ma Thuot to Lak Lake (90 KM)

After breakfast we get back on the motorbike to explore the local life in the mountains. Along rice fields we drive to the village of Ede, where we cross the river by ferry to meet people from the Tay tribe. We drive on to the Jun villages around Lak Lake. Here live the M’nong, one of the many mountain tribes of Vietnam. One of the M’nong families will take us fishing on the lake.
