Sights & Highlights

Day 1

Dalat to Ta Dung (150 KM)

At 8 AM, your Easy Rider picks you up at your ho(s)tel. On beautiful mountain roads we drive to the natural lake of Tuyen Lam and visit ‘Chicken Village’, where the K’ho tribe lives. Next up, we visit Pongour waterfall, a magnificent 7-storey natural wonder. We continue our way in the Central Highlands and stop at a coffee plantation, where you can try some famous ‘weasel coffee’. We end this first day at Ta Dung National Park. You’ll have a magnificent view over the more than 100 islands in the lake – no wonder Ta Dung is called the Halong Bay of the Central Highlands.

Day 2

Ta Dung to Lak Lake (160 KM)

After breakfast, we hit the road again and continue our way in north direction. Along the way, we stop for some fresh passion fruit straight from the farm (when in season). We visit an over million year old crater. From the top, we have a majestic view over rice paddies in the surroundings.

On the way to Lak Lake, we visit cassave, pepper, and cashew nut farms, and can see the impressive Draynu waterfall. At the end of the day, we visit M’lieng village, where M’nong people live in traditional Long houses. If you’re lucky, you also get to catch one of the most beautiful sunsets over Lak Lake.

Day 3

Lak Lake to Dalat (170 KM)

In the morning, we will learn more about the life of the M’nong. Passing one of the floating fishing villages, we drive to the Krong No Highland market. Then we continue our way through the mountains to Dalat on roads with beautiful views (camera at the ready!). We stop along the way at the Elephant Waterfall, Linh An Pagoda, a silk factory, a flower farm, a rice wine distillery, and a coffee plantation where you can try weasel coffee.

The tour ends at your accommodation in Dalat.

The program above is a general description of the route. All tours are subject to change based on your Easy Rider’s own insight, depending on factors as weather, traffic and time. Additional costs

All breakfast, lunch and dinner meals, drinks and any other personal expenses. Expect your daily costs to be about €10 per person for meals and drinks throughout the day.

Pick-up & Drop-off

All tours start between 8 and 9 AM in the morning. After booking with us, one of our Easy Riders will contact you with the exact pick-up time. Your Easy Rider will pick you up at your hostel or hotel in Dalat.

At the end of your tour – before 5 PM – you’ll be dropped off at the accommodation of your choice in the destination city. Make reservations before arrival, because our riders only make one stop for drop-off.

Arriving by bus or train?

We can arrange pick-ups and drop-offs at bus or train stations if you arrive before 9 AM in the morning. Start your tour fresh of the night bus or train – we’ll stop for breakfast along the way! Provide us with the necessary information (departure and arrival station, name of the bus company, estimated time of arrival) by adding it to the booking form.

What is an Easy Rider motorbike tour?

An Easy Rider is a Vietnamese guide on a motorbike. Our Easy Riders are English-speaking, licensed tour guides who know the ins and outs of Vietnamese roads, nature, history and culture. Touring with an Easy Rider means that you comfortably sit on the back of the motorbike behind the guide – wearing protective gear – while you travel from one city to the next, stopping regularly to enjoy sights, local experiences, drinks and meals.

Tours start between 8 and 9 AM, and end between 3 and 5 PM. Your Eay Riders picks you up and drops you off at your accommodation. Multiple day tours include overnight stays.

How to book (availability, payment)

Availability
Use the calendar at the top of the tour page to check availability for the preferred date(s).

Booking
On the tour page, fill in the number of people you book for – choose between sitting behind the guide and self-driving – and select the date(s). Click ‘book now’ and follow the steps to complete your booking.

Payment
You pay a small deposit by online payment; the remaining amount you pay at the start of the tour.

Confirmation
You receive an automatically generated booking confirmation. Within 48 hours of booking, our head Easy Rider Mr. Vu will also email you to confirm your tour.

How far in advance should I book?
You can book tours departing from Dalat, Hoi An and Hue shortly beforehand. For popular multiple-day tours (like the Ha Giang Loop), we advice you to book ahead. It’s okay if you don’t know your pick-up or drop-off location yet, you can let us know later.

Self-driving & International Driving Permit

On the tour, you can drive yourself if you are:

a party of at least two people; on every tour at least one person sits behind an Easy Rider.
in possession of a valid motorcycle license (A1 or A2), and;
in possession of a valid 1968-version of the International Driving Permit (IDP), obtained in your home country;

We will make sure to get you a well maintained motorbike (manual or clutch) and protective gear. The rate for sitting on the back or driving your own bike is the same, gasoline is included.

For safety reasons, we don’t allow passengers on the motorbikes for self-driving.

Luggage

Each person can bring one (1) backpack or suitcase (max. 20 kg / 44 lbs) and one (1) daypack or handbag on the tour. Even pretty big hard scale suitcases can be tied to the back of the motorbike as long as they are not over 20 kg (44 lbs); it’s more about weight distribution than size.

All luggage is put in waterproof bags and tied to the front or back of the motorcycle.

Is it a private tour or do we ride in groups?

On most occassions, it’s just you and your Easy Rider(s): a private tour.

During peak seasons (July & August, November – February), we sometimes combine multiple bookings to a small group. This group then consists of all the guests who have booked the same route on the same date(s). This is most common on our popular day tours (covering the Hai Van Pass).

Our Ha Giang Loop tours are always private tours. For us, this is an important way to distinguish our tours in this region from the awfully big groups some operators ride with.
